How to Talk About Loss of a Parent, Loved One with Kids

May 31, 2016 by Kevin McKeever

loss of a parent podcast
Loss of a parent or loved one, and how to talk about it with your children, is tackled in the very special edition of The Modern Dads Podcast.

On the latest Modern Dads Podcast we tackle a conversation that is especially difficult at this time of year between Mother’s and Father’s days and hard for us as adults to approach with our children: the loss of a loved one — especially, the loss of a parent or grandparent.

The idea sprung from podcast producer Josh Kross who was dealing with the loss of his father and struggling with the best way to talk about it with his three young children. He asked four of our City Dads for their advice, and recorded the response for this show. So in addition to Josh (an NYC Dads Group member), you will hear from Whit Honea (L.A. Dads), Adam Gertsacov (Chicago), Lance Somerfeld and Jason Greene – also of NYC .
