NYC Stay at Home Dads ‘Blanket’ Central Park

Yesterday, the weather was shining, the humidity was low, the trees are full with leaves, and it was time for our NYC Dads Group to meet up & hit Central Park (near the Great Lawn) for the first time. Since our group’s inception was back in November, it’s finally park season in New York City for us. The turnout of a dozen dads with their kids in tow was not surprising. We had a scenic spot (see picture above) that provided room to chill out, spread out the blankets, get to know each other a bit better, and “let the babies flop around.” There was lots of camaraderie as we hung out and enjoyed picnic lunches, and got spoiled with homemade cookies prepared by our renowned chef, Jeff.

Another bonus of this meet up event was the simplicity of just showing up in Central Park with your blanket & baby. Some dads commented that the flex arrival time was nice since this was not a class or structured event so dads could navigate around their kid’s nap schedules and still join in on the fun and leave when they want.

Definitely looking forward to hitting this spot sometime soon…as well as venturing out to different parks around the city!

Thanks for the shout out Lance! While I don’t want to start “potluck pressure” on our hard working dads this just might be the audience I need for maintaining skills without plumping the wife!

Glad everyone enjoyed the goods. Jeff
