This week’s featured dad is John Severson.
He’s and his family are in Oak Park the western suburb of the Chicagoland area where you can find Frank Lloyd Wright’s studio and home.
John is a Work-at-home dad with two kids.
What is your favorite children’s book, and why?
There Was a Coyote Who Swallowed a Flea by Jennifer Ward. Caused first steps in my daughter learning to read and for some reason I don’t mind reading it over and over again unlike some of the other children’s books we’ve went through.
What is your favorite thing about being a dad?
Seeing life through my kids’ eyes and being around them when they do things for first time and grow/develop.
How has being part of Chicago Dads Group been good for you?
It has been great meeting other dads with similar interests (and struggles of being first time parents…) as well as being involved in some pretty unique meet up opportunities made possible by the group’s sponsors.
What has been your favorite Chicago Dads Group event?
Watching Brian Dykes be interviewed on the Windy City Live television show set was a pretty memorable event because there were a lot of us there and it was a pretty well organized and executed event.
