Trump’s Election: How Do We Explain it to Our Kids

November 15, 2016 by Matt Schneider

Election 2016 is the topic of this special Modern Dads Podcast.

The best of us work hard to raise our kids to be thoughtful, compassionate and empathic: to care for and about others, to not be bullies, to be respectful of all regardless of race, gender, religion and so on.

So what does the election of Donald Trump — a man who ran on a platform of bullying others, disrespecting women, and threatening minorities — mean to the United States and us as parents.

Modern Dads Podcast producer Josh Kross takes the lead in this freewheeling conversation with L.A. Dads Group member and regular contributor Whit Honea as they share their raw feelings about Election 2016, and what it means for their families.

They also talk about the conversations they have already had with their children and brainstorm what ones they will be having with their them in the coming days.

One production note: adult language is used in this episode so you might not want to have the children around when you listen.
