Last week, a friend e-mailed me link to a new site/community called Role/Reboot. The founders recognize that men and women are in the “midst of a major shift in roles and expectations” and thus call our generation the “shift” generation. The site brings together content from forward thinking writers and seeks to create a community of people who want to talk about issues ranging from “contemporary marriage and relationships, the status of ‘manhood’ and how gender is discussed in politics and media.” They’ve also reinvented the book club by hosting “Turn the Page” sessions. Participants are provided with articles and video related to a specific topic in advance and then come together at a designated time to discuss.
I think this is going to be a great forum to bring many of these issues to light and I look forward to being part of the Role/Reboot community. Special thanks to the Role/Reboot team for posting my essay, This is Not the Father I Want to Be.
