The Dad 2.0 Summit is a national three-day conference where marketers, social media leaders, blogging parents and regular dads gather to discuss the changing voice and perception of modern fatherhood. Dad 2.019, as the February event is also known, will be based out of The Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, a hotel on the famed San Antonio Riverwalk, a popular local and tourist destination.
Actor Dax Shepard (Parenthood, Armchair Expert podcast) is scheduled to be one of the event’s many keynote speakers.
Past speakers have featured sports and media stars such as football Hall of Famers Michael Strahan and Ronnie Lott, best-selling authors Brad Meltzer and Brene Brown and TV producer Jason Katims.
However, the Dad 2.0 Summit tends to be more about names not normally in bold type — mainly, the everyday fathers who attend and the bonds they create with each other.
City Dads Group has been a media partner of Dad 2.0 since 2014. It uses the conference as a national meetup opportunity for its leadership and members.
“Dad 2.0 has been the place we have found the guys who organize our groups, write for our blogs, and help with our influencer campaigns with national brands,” City Dads Group co-founder Matt Schneider said in a previous article on the conference. “Our groups have very similar goals in helping further the importance and positive perception of being an active, involved father, and collaborations like this benefit everybody for the good of all parenting.”
Dad 2.0 Summit bills itself as “an open conversation about the commercial power of dads online, and an opportunity to learn the tools and tactics used by influential bloggers to create high-quality content, build personal brands, and develop business ideas.” This year’s sponsors include Dove Men+Care, Legoland Resorts and Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” educational segment.
