Want your child to show more creativity and curiosity? Maybe he or she already does and you are looking for a way to feed that drive.
If either of those is true, or if you are just looking for a family-friendly event with loads of entertainment, things to do and plain ol’ fun, then the World Maker Faire New York is for you.
The Sept. 22-23 event, to be held at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, will feature tons of projects and workshops — both hands-on and observational — and seven entertainments stages all focused on making things for social good, health, technology, food, art and more — be it high-tech robotics and 3D printing, old-fashioned (but crazy cool) pumpkin carving or even new styles of dance.
You know it will be sciency good time because Adam Savage of TV’s Mythbusters and the whole Science Channel’s Mythbusters Jr. cast will be on stage there one day to show off their ingenuity and STEAM skills while telling tales of tackling myths ranging from driving, explosions, chemistry, physics, popular culture and more.
NYC Dads Group is proud to be a partner of the fair, the East Coast’s largest celebration of invention, creativity and curiosity. We’ve already hooked up 10 dads with free pairs of tickets, so now we want to help you and yours purchase tickets to the event.
The World Maker Faire New York runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day during the weekend of Sept. 22 and 23 — rain or shine. Tickets discounts are available including on advanced online sale and a special Sunday family discount package.
Founded in 2006, World Maker Faire inspires the future of makers with a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. People of all ages and backgrounds gather to show what they are making and share what they are learning. The annual New York event is one of the organization’s two flagship events (the other is in the San Francisco Bay area) which combine to attract 2,000 “makers” and 250,000 attendees each year.
