Thanks to active group member, Colby T. for this blog post about a recent NYC Dads Group Meetup with Yogi Beans.
A small group of dads got together with Yogi Beans on the Upper West Side to try and locate the inner peace buried somewhere in the middle of our toddlers. The class was a warm and inviting opportunity to move and explore with our little ones.
We started with a little criss-crossed sitting/stretching that had varying degrees of success for the little one’s attention spans. Watching the kids practice blowing a feather was great. The hits of the session were the animal poses. Lauren and Durham walked us through their versions of Frog, Elephant, Snake, and Lion. All the kids did a fair job of modeling and were certainly observing intently. Of course, my favorite part was the corpse pose ending of the class in which we were actually successful at getting my 2 year old to lay down with me for more than 10 seconds. Inner tranquility obtained! The staff was lovely and it was a very relaxing way to spend a morning.
Yogibeans is generously offering a 10% discount to the any NYC Dads Group members who are interested in signing up for the class. Thanks to the Yogi Beans staff for inviting us into their space!
