Mother’s Day Garden Party
Head up to the Bronx to the famous New York Botanical Garden for a beautiful day in nature. Take a tour around the garden and see all the flowers that make it world-renowned. Hungry? Have a picnic on Daffodil Hill with a meal provided by food trucks. There will be events for the whole family, including mini-golf, story readings, live family music, and of course, Mother’s Day card-making. Mother’s Day Celebration at the Central Park Zoo
See some of the animal kingdom’s furry and scaly mothers with their babies. Enjoy a scavenger hunt through the zoo, and a special animal surprise at the end that moms and kids will love. The event concludes with some arts and crafts for mom, and a light snack. (Ticket include one parent and one child: $65 for members, $75 for non-members; 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday; Manhattan)
Mother’s Day Family Fun at Children’s Museum of the Arts
Mom and the kids can craft together, or she can kick back while they make her a special gift. Workshops include flower-making from recycled materials, making portraits of the special women in their lives, and pastry-making at the at the clay bar. Plus, all moms receive free admission! (Free with museum admission; 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday; Manhattan)
