I was preparing our son’s dinner on Friday evening when my dad called and said, “put on CBS News…there is another story about an at-home-dad” (in New Jersey) forced into his role because of the economy. I loved it when the son in the segment had said, “he loved having dad at home”, and the mom replied, “I’m sure he does because he’s a lot more lenient than me!”
Seth Doane reported that Women are Half of all U.S. Workers & that Mothers are Primary Breadwinners or Co-breadwinners in Nearly Two-Thirds of American Families! The full CBS News segment is below. I am still thinking about a quote from the segment- that it is “hard for mothers to redefine their role.” I guarantee it is! Consequently, isn’t it just as challenging for the fathers to redefine their role as well?
