Being an at-home-parent this week felt (a little) like being back in college. Let me elaborate…
September marks the beginning of the fall session of parent & me, mommy & me, and daddy & me classes. These thoughts popped into my mind: What classes should I take? What days are they available? Do the times conflict with my son’s nap schedule? Are the classes already full? Will I be the only dad?
Here I am sitting at my desk… reviewing the fall class schedules for Gymboree, Music Together, Rock & Roll Baby at Applause, Parkbench at 92nd Street Y, & swim classes at Asphalt Green. I truly feel like I am in the process of college registration for fall courses….Who is the instructor? Will I oversleep because the class is too early? Are my friends in the class? Is the section “closed” yet…well, you get the picture.
I consider this an exciting process, and not highly stressful. However, it could be a laborious process for some families. We are fortunate to live in NYC with so many parent & me class options, and this is a good problem.
Anyone else want to share their feelings about this process?
