The Modern Dads Podcast, produced by City Dads Group, recently received another top parenting podcast honor.
Feedspot, a leading social feed reader service, placed the Modern Dads Podcast among its list of 25 parenting podcasts “You Must Subscribe and Listen to in 2018.” It bestowed the accolades based on “quality and consistency” of posts based on Feedspot’s editorial and expert review as well as social media popularity and influence, and Google reputation and search ranking.
The podcasts were chosen “because they are actively working to educate, inspire, and empower their readers with frequent updates and high-quality information,” stated Feedspot’s announcement. The honored podcasts range from ones backed by major publications such as Slate and Pregnancy magazines to much smaller ventures in the United States and abroad.
The Modern Dads Podcast, in production since 2013, discusses issues today’s fathers, their spouses and partners face navigating work, parenthood, relationships and play. It aims to “share stories of dads who are active and engaged in the decisions, the drudgery, and the pains and the joys of parenthood,” according to its mission statement. It regularly features parenting authors and experts as well a members of City Dads Group around the nation.
The shows are usually hosted by City Dads Group co-founder Matt Schneider with frequent contributions and occasional hosting by site columnist Whit Honea, author of The Parents’ Phrase Book and a member of our L.A. Dads Group. Krosstown Studios, owned and operated by NYC Dads Group member Josh Kross, produces the show.
The Modern Dads Podcast has been cited several times before by notable publications, print and online. The Washington Post listed it as a one of its parenting podcasts “worth checking out” in 2016 while Healthline called the Modern Dads Podcast “one of the best parenting podcasts of 2015.” Mental Floss cited it as a “notable” top parenting podcast in 2015 for taking a “thoughtful” look at important issues facing fathers.
