*** Meet down the hill at the tide pools in the first parking lot after the Coast Guard station***
Due to popular demand we have decided to head back to the tide pools! Last visit was amazing, even though the rain tried to put a damper on the day.
We will be in King/Spring Tide at this time in February which means amazing low tides for tide pool exploration. Low tide is: 02:49 PM @ -0.94ft. This means awesome conditions for the whole afternoon! I set the start time at 12:30pm so we get to the pools right when they are “explorable” and we can beat the crowd down. Last visit the tide stayed positive the whole time so we know this will be even better timing.
Recommendations based on last visit:
1. Bring a pair of shoes for everyone that can get wet to wear at the pools (water socks, old sneakers, etc.) because the rocks can be slippery and the kids may not appreciate the slimy kelp feeling either.
2. Bring a change of pants, socks and towel for the kids. Towel for Dad and fresh socks would be nice too.
3. Carry as little as possible so you have both hands available to exploration and helping the kids explore. A backpack or a shirt/jacket with pockets could be helpful.
This is a great event for kids! If you have time we can also head up as a group to explore the old lighthouse and take a short hike after the tide pools.
