Ah, the smell of lumber in the morning!
Did you know Home Depot hosts a free monthly workshop for kids?
They provide all the necessary tools and materials (hammer, screwdriver, paint, stickers) and parents will support their kids in completing a DIY project. Although the workshop is geared towards children ages 5 to 12, younger children can participate with some help from grownups.
A “Blooming Art” project is scheduled for May 4th. Please plan to arrive early at the Glendale Home Depot at 75-09 Woodhaven Blvd (behind Trader Joe’s). Please plan to arrive between 8:45am and 9am because the line gets long!
In addition to RSVPing here, you must also register here: https://www.homedepot.com/workshops/#store/1220
From the Home Depot website:
Make Mom’s day with a handmade blooming art piece. In this hands-on workshop you and your child can discuss the art of patience as you build a blooming work of art to gift or put on display. Once it is built, your child can decorate it with paint. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.
