Gentlemen, please remember to bring any sand and beach toys for the kids to play with. Last year (in the photo above) you can see that most of the kids did not know the beach party was happening, so they arrived at the zoo without any toys. Because of that…
TWIN CITIES DADS GROUP is giving 25 buckets/shovel sets to the kids on Saturday. Come help us give them away, and please consider donating any beach toys you have to the cause. Wear your blue TCDG shirt, and help us spread some good cheer. The Sunday forecast 35 degrees, but the Tropics Trail sandbox is a balmy 78 degrees year round. See you there!
It’s back! The MN Zoo Tropical Beach Party returns for 2018 with a ton of sand (34 tons actually) in two GIANT sandboxes. Bring some beach toys, and maybe a change of underwear because just like the beach, that stuff gets everywhere! No sunblock needed, and the jellyfish are safely contained. Last year the kids had a grand time digging and building sand castles. Oh, and there’s a zoo there too!
We’ll meet at the Tropics Trail around 11:00, and dig for a while. Join us and stay as late as you like. The zoo is open until 4:00.

PS Did you know that the MN Zoo now has a new baby Malaysian Tapir?
