Home Depot does free monthly kids workshops on the first Saturday of each month. You and your child will build/make a project that typically takes between 30-60 minutes. All supplies are provided by Home Depot, but you MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE at https://www.homedepot.com/workshops/?cm_mmc=SEM%7CG%7CBase%7CNA%7CNA%7CNA%7CBT2%7CResources%7c71700000002452738%7c58700000047554738%7c43700003817007473&gclid=CjwKCAiA99vhBRBnEiwAwpk-uHSuLK65ErUsWSn7UFa4zANzRdnCtW8nB3X7ikMTKdX-lTfwTDZZ0hoChY4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#store/3662
(look for Register button next to Heart Candy Box)
Good for kids age 3-10 (boys and girls). Expect to help your child. If they are sensitive to sounds, headphones might be good due to frequent hammering. Painting is typically involved so dress accordingly.
If you join, comment in the meetup and we can create a dialog about what time (between 9 and 12) works best so we can do this together. While I listed the entire 3-hour window that HD provides in the meetup, this is NOT a 3-hour project.
Home Depot Description of February’s Workshop project–
Celebrate love and kindness with a personalized candy heart box. In this workshop, you and your child can build a heart shaped box for Valentine’s Day perfect as a gift for someone you love or to stash all your super sweet Valentine’s Day goodies and keepsakes. Once the heart is built, your child can customize it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.
