Home Depot does free monthly kids workshops on the first Saturday of each month. You and your child will build/make a project that typically takes between 30-60 minutes. All supplies are provided by Home Depot, but you MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE on Home Depot’s Website.
You only need to register whomever is doing the project (your child)
Click this Link:
Scroll Down to “Blooming Art” and then click the Register Button
Fill the form and hit “Complete Registration”
Good for kids age 3-10 (boys and girls). Expect to help your child. If they are sensitive to sounds, headphones might be good due to frequent hammering. Painting is typically involved so dress accordingly.
If you join, comment in the meetup and we can create a dialog about what time (between 9 and 12) works best so we can do this together. While I listed the entire 3-hour window that Home Depot provides in the meetup, this is NOT a 3-hour project. It is recommended to arrive at either 9 am or 11 am to beat the crowds.
Home Depot Description of May’s Workshop project–
Make Mom’s day with a handmade blooming art piece. In this hands-on workshop you and your child can discuss the art of patience as you build a blooming work of art to gift or put on display. Once it is built, your child can decorate it with paint. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.
For the First Time Ever! We are going to attempt to do a NATIONAL CITY DADS GROUP COORDINATED MEETUP where we will all go to our local Home Depots and do the same meetup across the nation! How cool!
