Duke Tumatoe and Joanna Connor –
Two powerhouse blues players in one night!!
I’ve loved both these players since the late 80’s and have seen them live many times – at Chicago’s Blues Fest and blues clubs and in other states – both are INCREDIBLE, each with their special sauce of blues-rock mix.
“Dr. Duke” as he calls himself is a trip and a half, and an incredible showman. He loves people, the blues (songs about food, good times, his ex-wife and well… you have to show up to hear the rest), and audience interaction.
Joanna is just straight up one of the best soulful blues singers with a rock and roll mindset you’ll ever hear and a great guitar player.
Come join us for Dads Night Out to be remembered for ages.
Joanna starts with an acoustic set from 7:30-8:30, then she kicks off her full band at 9pm, and Duke follows her at 10:30pm, and they alternate sets the rest of the night on Kington’s two stages.
Food, drink, music, laughs and Dads Night Out fun!
Cover charge is $15, and well worth it.
I’m putting 8:30 as the meeting time, between Joanna’s first two sets. Feel free to join me then or any time thereafter.
My cell is 773-829-1276. Text me when you arrive.
There is some street parking available. There is also a garage at Home Depot on the block just north of Kingston Mines, on the opposite side of the street. Kingston Mines has valet parking.
Doc’s Rib Joint, the kitchen at the back of the bar, features ribs, chicken, shrimp, catfish, soup, salad, cheesecake and more. Food and drink menus: https://kingstonmines.com/menu/
See you for a Dads’ blues rockin’ good time!
