General Mills Canada knocked one out of the park with their commercial for Peanut Butter Cheerios that started airing this week. In the commercial titled “How To Dad” by Toronto agency Tribal Worldwide, we see a dad. Owning it. Hard. Hashtag. Goodbye, Mr. Mom. It’s ‘Hello, Dad’ from Here On
I remember the release of Mr. Mom, the 1983 movie starring Michael Keaton that posited the question, “What if mom went to work and dad had to take care of the house and kids?” A big laugh fest back in the day. Dad struggled at first, and the house and kids’ lives fell apart. To most people at the time, this was not surprising. But then it clicked for him. Keaton's character shaved off his scruffy beard, fed the family and got the kids to school on time.
