The more I’m around my kids, the more I feel like I’m back in college. My children remind me an awful lot about what it was like to live with my old (and not so great) roommates. Dishes. My kids leave their dishes wherever they took their last bite of food. Whether it be the couch, the floor in front of the television or the kitchen table, it’s easy to figure out where my child or former college roommates ate their last meal. And why is there a plate in the bathroom? Gross. Cups. How many cups do my kids need at bedtime? If you use my daughter’s room as an example, the answer is nine. … [Read more...]
Remote Learning: Is it Causing Your Kid to Fall Behind in School?
If you’re working full-time from home during the pandemic while also adjusting to your kids being there around the clock thanks to remote learning, you’re probably seeing sides of them you hadn’t before. You might see them slacking off a bit in school since they don’t have a teacher there to keep them on track. Fatherhood Conferences to Go Virtual in 2020 Because of Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic claimed two more victims recently -- two major annual fatherhood conferences. However, both will be resurrected in an online "virtual" format. Organizers of HomeDadCon, a gathering of at-home fathers, and Dad 2.0, a more marketing/branding oriented event, called off in-person events scheduled for this October. However, each group has decided to pivot to digital versions of their fatherhood conferences where participants can watch and listen to presentations and socialize via video conferencing. (DISCLOSURE: City Dads Group has been a long-time sponsor and partner … [Read more...]
