On my daughter’s birthday last year, I drove several hours to visit her at college. The City Dads Group website has been nominated for a new award that recognizes excellence in and commitment to creating parenting content. The Richard and Linda Eyre Family Is Awards were established last year to recognize social media influencers whose online content best celebrates commitment, popularizes parenting, bolsters balance and validates values. Dad 2.0, the conference for fathers wanting to participate in a conversation about the changing voice and perception of modern fatherhood, will bring its usual strong lineup of speakers and panelists for professional and personal development to Washington, D.C., next month.
Organizers of the event, dubbed Dad 2.020 for its ninth year, recently announced many of the topics to be discussed at the summit, slated for Feb. 27-29, 2020, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
At-home fathers from all over are scheduled to gather in Cincinnati in October 2020 for HomeDadCon, an annual "professional development" conference for full-time caregivers of the dad persuasion. And you can get a ticket on the cheap this New Year's Day. The Oct. 8-10, 2020, convention is for at-home fathers who embrace parenting as their most important job.
