“Son, I’m proud of you. I will never forget the day I heard those words come out of my dad's mouth. As a teenager and a young man, I couldn’t tell if my dad loved me or not. He did, but I was too caught up on me to realize it -- even at obvious times. I used to think I wasn’t good enough and had failed him as his child.
