As an avid reader of New York Magazine and active city parent, it was enjoyable to see what NY Magazine predicted as this upcoming year’s (2010) “Best Of” for kids. Most surprisingly, was the snub to Union Square’s new playground (it did receive an honorable mention) based on being overcrowded. I don’t disagree with their logic as it was jammed on my two previous visits. Either way, I look forward to heading there during the early morning hours with the dads group in May! Best Playground honors went to Tompkins Square Park on Avenue A for it’s $1.5 million face-lift, rope bridges, twisty ladders, and rock-climbing wall.
Other interesting “Best Of Kids” categories were baby gear guru, playspace (Moomah – I guess I need to check this place out), and cooking school.
