Editor’s Note: Who loves the Atlanta children’s museum more than us? Our kids, of course. Our week-long celebration of “Summer in Our City Dads Group Cities” heads south.
One of the favorite places the boys and I like to visit is The Children’s Museum of Atlanta. Granted it seems like a no-brainer that a place with such a title would be one of our favorites, but they were slow to warm up to it. Now that they are 2 and 4 they love it because every exhibit has some sort of hands-on component.
It varies as to what they enjoy more. One time they spent all of their time in the play farm area. It has a pretend cow that you milk, groceries that you shop for and little carts to push around. They stayed in that area for two hours the last time we visited.
This most recent time to the Atlanta children’s museum, our oldest spent most of his time at the ball exhibit, Tools for Solutions. It has balls that go up in tubes, come down, get passed through a crane and repeat. Our oldest would’ve stayed there for hours. While he was there, our youngest was running about between Outside the Box and the farm area.
On the ride home, the younger one slept the entire way back while our oldest simply enjoyed the ride. It was a good day for all.
