ANNOUNCING: The Modern Dads Podcast presented by NYC Dads Group

April 23, 2013 by APW

We are very excited to launch our latest project, The Modern Dads Podcast. We’re telling the stories of the dads that are not only involved in their children’s lives, but active and engaged in the decisions, the drudgery, the pain, and the joys of parenthood. We know modern dads are out there, and they come in all stripes. With each episode, we’ll talk about the issues modern dads are facing as we try to navigate work, parenthood, relationships, and play.

This is a a show for dads, but it’s also a show for our wives and partners, our friends and colleagues, our managers and business leaders, and the people representing us in advertising, TV, and movies. We know that the definition of what it means to be a good dad is changing by the moment, and we’re looking to the world to change with us.
Episode 1: Lean In, Dads with Guest, Jim Higley

In our first episode, we’re joined by our good friend, award-winning author, speaker, and TV personality, Jim Higley to discuss the phenomenon around Sheryl Sandberg’s new book, Lean In. The book has been widely seen as a call to action for women, but we discuss the lessons for men and dads. Jim also shares his story of being a single father, a cancer survivor, advocate for men’s health awareness, and Executive Director of The Testicular Cancer Foundation.
