Amazon, one of the world’s largest online retailers, has a parenting program called Amazon Mom in the United States, but called Amazon Family most everywhere else. Can we get a “What’s up with that?”
We at NYC Dads Group love moms, but it’s time for Amazon USA to get with the times.
It’s time to include dads as part of the parenting world.
It’s time to take the pressure off moms.
It’s time for the United States to catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to parenting.
For the past week, hundreds of members of the parent blogging community, their friends and their families have been using social media to let Amazon know that it has work to do. Despite the thousands of tweets, blog posts, Facebook posts and media reports, Amazon has yet to comment – even with a “no comment” on the campaign:
- PIX-11 New York: Amazon Mom creates backlash from families that fall outside the norm
- CNN.com: Dad blogger’s death prompts renewed push to rename ‘Amazon Mom’
- Fox Business: Dads campaign to get ‘Amazon Mom’ name changed
- Parenting.com: Push to Change “Amazon Mom” to “Family” Renewed After Dad Blogger’s Death
