Writer Mike Adamick. He’s a pioneering dad blogger. He’s a celebrated non-fiction author of the popular Dad’s Book of Awesome series. Now add tween novelist to his resume with the release of his new action book series The Adventures of Crash Adams.
The Adventures of Crash Adams, designed to pique the interest pre-teens in nature as well as reading, has already been garnering great online reviews for many reasons. On the latest Modern Dads Podcast, we ask Adamick about one in particular — the decision to make a character that served as a role model for boys and girls equally.
Adamick also chats about The Force Awakens character Rey and the controversial decision by a company licensed to make Star Wars merchandise to leave her off shelves of toy stores. Adamick’s online take on the subject was publicly lauded by How to Get Away with Murder producer and writer Shonda Rhimes.
L.A. Dads Group member and author of The Parents’ Phrase Book Whit Honea also reappears. He lends his voice to the conversation about gender labeling toys and other children’s items.
