This is THE totally winter-saving activity at the Renaissance Gymnastics Academy in East Providence. Six mornings a week they host open play for toddlers up to age 5 in their extremely large facility. We’re talking…
1) GIANT foam block climbing structures they keep re-arranging to keep things interesting
2) A tumbling (trampoline) track that kids can use to jump into a foam block pit
3) LOTS of space to run around and balls to play with
4) Supervised use of their gymnastics equipment like uneven and parallel bars, balance beams, and more
One visit there and both Elie and I was hooked. There’s even a table/chairs setup in the entry room with a Lego Duplo play table and vending machines.
Best thing…UNLIMITED access for only $20/month! It’s $15 for a drop-in…I did that for my first visit and they just let me use the $15 towards the first month. When you think about the cost that other play areas charge for one visit ($10-12 per adult) this is a real bargain. I’ve been going once or twice a week….personal mission to get my cost per entry as low as possible with my daughter as a very willing and happy accomplice!
They don’t allow photography inside for privacy reasons so I don’t have any pictures, but check out their info sheet here: http://www.rga-ri.com/assets/2016.-class—team-schedule.pdf
Always a lot of dads there, too.
I don’t say this often, but do not pass up checking this out, even if you can’t make it for this particular Meetup. Hope to see you there!
